To set up a URL web redirect from your Control Panel, you must have the domain, hosting, or both contracted with cdmon.
There are three possible ways to create the URL redirect: through "Domain Management", through "Hosting Management", or through the "DNS Records" panel. Below we will explain each one.
When you access the "Control Panel" you will be on the "Basic Service List" screen (pink box). From this screen you can directly access "Manage domain", "Manage hosting", or "DNS Records".
1.- Manage domain
By accessing the "Manage domain" option, you will see the following screen, where you need to click on the Manage redirects option.
It will take you to the following screen, where you can configure the redirect by clicking Add redirect.
Once you click the "Add redirect" option, you will access the following screen to configure the web redirect.
2.- Manage hosting
If you accessed through "Manage hosting", you will see this other screen, where you will need to go to the "Domains" section and click on the first option, Web redirects.
This is a redirect to the same section as the previous case, where you can add the URL redirect.
3.- Manage DNS
By accessing through DNS management, you will enter the following screen, where you must click on the More options option and then on Create web redirect.
When you click on the "Create web redirect" option, you will access the following screen where you can configure the web redirect.
Temporary and permanent redirect (301 or 302): The redirect type (301 or 302) indicates whether it is temporary or permanent. If you want to indicate to search engines or other page visitors that a redirect is temporary, we use 302, and if you want to set the redirect permanently, we use 301.
The fundamental difference is understood by search engines like Google, which with a 302 redirect will understand that it is only a temporary URL change, and with a 301 redirect you are telling them to update the page's path in their databases permanently.
Hidden Redirect: A transparent redirect, or frame redirect, is a type of domain redirect that allows the target page to load while keeping the same address in the browser bar (URL).
4.- Propagation
You have now configured the URL web redirect. Now, you just need to wait for the changes to propagate, an action that may take about five minutes.
